This is the 6th year of this flagship show, a highlight of the International Ceramic calendar. 90 selected ceramic makers will be displaying their work in open sided marquees positioned in the Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown designed landscape alongside a stunning lake.

The show will be held in the show field for the Gillingham and Shaftesbury country fair. 90 makers have been selected to showcase a diverse range of ceramics, from functional to decorative pieces to suit all budgets and tastes.

‘Embrace the opportunity to meet, engage with and purchase from 140 diverse ceramic exhibitors, some of whom will be demonstrating on their stands to give visitors an insight into the skills involved in working with clay’. Celebrating Ceramics will be held alongside a Desire Jewellery and Silversmithing Fair. One ticket gives admission to both events. All tickets to be bought in advance.

An opportunity at this delightful show to experience directly the artistry and craftsmanship, skill and passion that lies behind handmade ceramics. This event particularly focuses and celebrates functional pottery. Potters and producers will be on show in a large marque just off the B6465 near Wardlow. Dogs very welcome!

This will be my first time at a Pens type of Potfest show, the form of which started up in Cumbria many years ago. As Potfest says ‘No art hype, no gallery glitz, just potters and public mixing in a down to earth setting’.  90 potters will be displaying work, from the well established makers to the up and coming next generation.
